Samantha Says No to Ye Maaya Chesave Promotion

Telugu romantic drama Ye Maaya Chesave, which introduced the fresh pairing of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is scheduled for a theatrical re-release on July 18, 2025, exactly 15 years after its original debut. The re-release of the 2010 cult favorite has stirred speculation about a joint promotional appearance by the former lead actors.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu, addressing the growing rumors, dismissed any such plans. In an interview with *Bollywood Hungama*, she said she is not participating in the re-release campaign.
“No, I am not promoting Ye Maaya Chesave with anyone. In fact, I am not involved in the film’s promotions at all,” she clarified. “I believe this chatter stems from the audience’s emotional connection to the film, and perhaps their wish to see the lead pair reunite.”
The actress further added that public sentiment should not dictate personal decisions. “You can’t lead your life trying to meet audience expectations,” she stated.
Although she’s distancing herself from promotional activities, Samantha shared a personal memory from her time on set. Her debut shot for the film was the now-famous gate sequence—where her character Jessie first meets Chaitanya’s Karthik.
She reflected on the experience of working under the direction of Gautham Vasudev Menon. “He had a clear vision of the characters and the scenes. It was a defining experience for me,” she noted.
The film not only marked the beginning of Samantha’s career but also saw the blossoming of a real-life relationship with co-star Naga Chaitanya. The two actors eventually married in 2017 but parted ways in 2021. Both have since focused on individual professional and personal paths.
